Bert Vermeiren

Bert Vermeiren has twenty-five years of experience in human resources management, half of which in the ICT industry. He has acquired experience in supporting fast growth scenarios, mergers and acquisitions, and in restructuring in an international environment. His expertise includes change management, management assessment, skills management, training and education, executive recruitment, selection and assessment , compensation and benefits, as well as other HR-related areas. He joined Executive Search in 2005.

He worked for 6 years as an HR executive for the international development and production centre of Philips Lighting and in a joint venture with Matsushita (Philips Matsushita Battery Corporation) and later joined IBM Belgium/Luxembourg as a HR Director. He was a member of the Regional Management Team and helped IBM with its transition from a country based to a business unit focused organisation and from a hardware company to an ICT service provider.

Mr. Vermeiren also worked for Lernout & Hauspie NV as Worldwide VP Human Resources from their headquarters in Belgium and from Boston. L&H was a leader in speech recognition and speech synthesis software. He contributed to the survival of the business when L&H entered into Chapter 11 and were finally taken over by Scansoft.

Thereafter Mr. Vermeiren joined Real Software, a European ICT software and services provider, as a Group HR Director and a member of the management team. Mr. Vermeiren has a Masters Degree in Economics (University of Antwerp) and in Communication (University of Louvain).
