This Dutch hospitality sector organisation (HBI – Horeca Branche Instituut) representing both employees’ and employers’ organisations, is active in the field of life long learning. In the hospitality sector in the Netherlands more than 300.000 people are working in about 40.000 companies. The institute is responsible for a coherent human resources policy. The main task is to ensure that the hospitality sector is provided with sufficient and competent employees. The institute offers employers and employees opportunities to keep their competences up- to-date and to work on personal development. The main challenge of the institute is establishing a demand-driven infrastructure for formal and informal learning and development.
