Kenteq ACC Process
The Dutch Government has set up an official competency certification label called EVC – ACC (Erkenning Verworven Competenties – Acquired Competencies Certification). This nationally recognised certification label has been conceived to allow people that do not hold an official diploma or certificate, to convert the competencies they have acquired over the years (both formal and informal) into an officially recognised certificate, a so-called ‘webdiploma’, which will significantly improve their chances in an ever more rapidly changing labour market. The idea behind it is to improve the employability of people (looking for a new job).
Synergetics, in co-operation with Kenteq, the Dutch knowledge centre of competency and advice for the technologic industry, is developing a business process driven (BPMS/SOA) ACC-platform that will enable recognised employment agencies to automate the ACC procedure workflow by aggregating someone’s acquired competencies and competency profile, into an officially recognised certificate. The acquired competencies will automatically be saved in a personal ePortfolio and will serve as valid legal proof of competence.
The ACC procedure was set up to measure the current competencies of the candidate objectively and match them to the competency profile of a nationally ascertained qualification. The fact that the current competencies are gauged in a nationally ascertained way, will lead to a more timely and more durable employability counselling.
